New Talent in Pakistan Cricket Team – Who Will Groom Them?

PCB has announced team for the Tour of West Indies 2011. Some senior players have been dropped and new talent has been inducted. The induction of new talent is good step. Now these new players have to be groomed by the seniors, but unfortunately there is no senior like Javed Miadad and Imran Khan in the current team who can aware them regarding importance of  singles and doubles. Younis Khan has been dropped and Misbah has no potential to groom this talent. Asad Shafiq and Umer Akmal are young and they required grooming themselves.  So, this is huge disadvantage for this young talent. Kamran Akmal has been also dropped because of his bad wicket keeping, no one can support him as wicketkeeper, but he was the only batsman who was able to play drives like Saeed Anwar and Inzamam. If PCB gave him a chance as batsman and released the pressure of wicket keeping from him he has the potential to become a useful part of batting line.

Now, how can PCB meet the problem of grooming the new talent? Only an enthusiastic coach can dot it off the field. Therefore, an enthusiastic coach is required. Although Javed Miadad is legend, but he is aged and had been unsuccessful in making his relationship with the players in past, therefore, PCB should think for some one else. Saeed Anwer and Basit Ali can perform the duties. Both were attacking players and were gifted to adjust themselves with situation occasionally as well.

So PCB should take bold step for appointment of one of them as coach quickly for the upcoming tour of West Indies. 

Let Kamran Akmal Play his “OWN” Game

According to media reports Pakistan cricket team management in Sri Lanka has decided to give responsibilities of Wicketkeeping to Umer Akmal after disappointing performance by his elder brother wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal. The performance of Kamran Akmal is worst for last 6, 7 years. But the management selected him in team again and again. After recent inexcusable performance by him management should disclose the reasons of his selection in team when he is even not able to take a simple catch. Now Pakistan team has to face this embarrassing situation because of terrible thinking of PCB.

Umer Akmal is not a full time wicketkeeper. There is no guarantee that he will perform well behind the stumps. Currently he is an inform batsman. By putting extra pressure of Wicket keeping on him can really have an effect on his batting performance. Because if he also dropped some catches, naturally he will become under immense pressure. Therefore, let him play his own game.

Some media reports say that he has declared himself unfit for wicket keeping. This is his right to do so. Team management has no right to sacrifice him for their own mistakes. The stance of Umer Akmal is right.

Question should be asked from Chairman PCB Ijaz Butt, Chairman Selection Committee Mohsin Hassan Khan and Coach Waqar Younis regarding selection of Kamran Akmal for World Cup. The current captain was not appointed captain at the moment of selection of team for world cup.  One can also sense some conspiracy behind the mystery escape of Zulqarnain from Dubai. Because, in presence of Zulqarnian the selection chance of Kamran Akmal was almost nothing. Now when after all his bed performances in last few years Kamran Akmal is still in the team by the courtesy of PCB.

Pakistan cricket team has won  ODIs series 2011 against New Zealand in New Zealand. It is all because of hard work by our players. Although there were concerns in the mind of Pakistan cricket fans because of captaincy controversy, which is created by PCB itself, but players concentrated only on game and avoid to become part of this controversy, which is a positive sing for Pakistan cricket.

Most of the Pakistan cricket experts say that this is not a big win, because New Zealand was beaten by Bangladesh, but these experts forgot this fact that New Zealand is a different team at their home ground. These experts should not forget 1992 world cup. Besides this, Pakistan team is also surrounding by controversies. In this difficult time, this win is a very positive sign for upcoming world for Pakistan cricket fans. 

Combination of senior and junior players showed the world that Pakistan cricket is not over.  A very positive sign of this team is that almost all batsmen are in form. Every one has contributed in different matches. Hafiz, Ahmed Shezad, Shahid Afrid, Misbah Ul Haq, Umer Akmal and Younis Khan reminded the world that  they have the capability to give tough time to any team in upcoming world cup.

Only dedication is required, if every player applied himself and concentrated only on game, no reason that Pakistan can perform well against Australia, India, South Africa and England also  in world cup 2011.

ICC Should Ban Pakistan Cricket Until…..

A new video of bookie Mazhar Majeed has been broadcasted on several channels. Although the video is old, but yet of importance. In this video he has disclosed the names of some new players for contact with him. These players are Umer Akmal and Imran Farhat. Now the Pandora box is open. From every where there are bad news for Pakistan cricket. Cricket fans have become tired of these news. Especially Pakistani fans are very upset. Now ICC has to take final decision for resolving this issue.  All these have happened under the current PCB management. So therefore, this management is responsible for the whole issue. ICC has to demand the Government of Pakistan to dissolve the current board. Because its look likes this board is part of this issue. But government of Pakistan will not resolve this board, because government is strong supporter of this board for some reasons. Therefore, one can say that the current Pakistan Government is also involved in this issue. So strong action from ICC is required. ICC has to ban Pakistan cricket until new board of honest people established. This action from ICC will be considered as good help from ICC to people of Pakistan. Because by only this way Pakistan Cricket can be freed from corrupt people.
