Sport is a unique tool which develops people to people contacts and promotes good gestures between the nations. But in the case of IPL Indian government used the game of cricket as political weapon and tried to isolate Pakistan from cricket world through political use of this IPL.
Infact the attitude of Indian government in cricket towards Pakistan is not a matter of sports now, government of Pakistan desperately needs to counter the isolation policy of Indian government against Pakistan. Therefore, she should think about such league. But before trying to launch such a league, PCB should study the case of SPL (Sri Lankan Premier League). We saw how BCCI destroyed the whole plan of SPL at the last moment by withdrawing Indian players. Although BPL was successful due to contribution from Pakistani players but the recent behavior of Bangladesh cricket board is enough to understand the fact that Bangladeshi will not play in Pakistan. The case of Sri Lankan players is even more complicated. They have been attacked in Pakistan and this will not be easy for them to visit Pakistan again. And looking to this scenario the participation of Australian, South African and British is out of question.
PCB is also thinking that PPL can be arranged outside the country in Sri Lanka or UAE. But arrangement outside the country will not help Pakistan cricket. So, therefore, PCB should think again and again before launching PPL because any misadventure at this time will be a disaster for Pakistan cricket.
In past due to security situation Sri Lanka has also faced such situation when some cricket playing nation avoided touring Sri Lanka. But Sri Lankan people faced this situation bravely and they succeeded in bringing peace in their country.
The best plan will be to bring peace in the country. After improvement in security situation there would be no reason for cricket playing nations to send their players for participating in PPL. Otherwise attempting PPL in Pakistan in current situation will be not more than another failure.
