Shahid Afridi – Time to Step Down As Captain
Cricket fans knows Shahid Afridi as aggressive allrounder. He is more famous for his aggressive batting than bowling. His impact in cricket is agression and this is the reason of his papularity in cricket fans. His two or three boundries were enough to make his fans happy in a match. But since few years he has tried to changed his batting style and as first step he avoid to open the innings. Infact todays’ cricket is suitable for him to play as a opener because of power playes, but instead of opening he adopted defensive approach and placed his number on number 6. After this strategy his story as batsman is complete failure. He has never played match winning innings on this position. Therefere, his batting on number six is of no use for the team. Therefore, his place in team is just as a bowler. Allthough he performed well in world cup 2011 as bowler, but he is not so consistant to be included in every match in all conditions. So by these reasons he is no more suitable for captaincy. A captain should be a person who deserve place in team in all conditions.
As a captain he never showed maturity on the field. After every match he made it his duty to talk to TV channels and point the performance of his players infront of all the world. His this attitude promote difference between the players and him. Beside these, he always act like child on the field as captian by talking after every bowle to his bowlers and by this he more confused the bowlers which effected their performance. In todays world there is no space to talk to your players harshly, but he did so many times on the field in front of thousands of viewers. He is not a successful captain and need to be replaced.
It will be better for him to resign by his own and concentrate on his batting once again, so that he can prolong his career as allrounder.
