From the beginning of Pakistan cricket, strong fast bowling is its identity. Fazal Mehmood, Sarfaraz Nawaz, Imran Khan, Waseem Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar, Muhammad Zahid, Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Aamir had been remained the strength of Pakistan cricket. But unfortunately after the tragedy of Aamir and Asif, the unable administration of PCB has not tried seriously to induct suitable replacement for Shoaib, Aamir and Asif. They are relying on slow bowling attack in shape of Afridi (One can not consider him as all-rounder furthermore because of his recent poor performance in batting), Ajmal, Hafeez and Abdul Rehman which is a defensive approach. If we analyze the performance of Pakistan cricket over the years, it is her fast bowling which help them all the time in winning the match.
Therefore, instead of fighting for powers, PCB management should take serious measures to pick young fast bowlers from domestic on merit, so that Pakistan team can find once again its identity of aggressive cricket.
