Future Plan for Associated Teams
After pressure from associated countries ICC has indicated that ICC wants to review format of World cup 2015 in which ICC has excluded associated countries.
ICC was facing criticism on including associated countries to world cup and now ICC is facing criticism on excluding associated countries from world cup. This is natural, there must be two opinions on every controversy, but ICC should think for promotion of cricket despite careering criticism. Honestly after world cup 1992, every format in which associated countries have been played is unsuccessful. Although these associated countries have given upset results sometimes but consistent performing team has not came into existence after so many years. Even the performance of Bangladesh after upgraded to permanent member is still not satisfactory. Therefore, one can say that the current planning of ICC for promotion of cricket is not working. Only by allowing these countries in world cup, will only depict the charm of world cup.
So what should be the plan? To me by providing reasonable chances to these countries in ICC future tour programme can help them in developing their skills. When the players of these teams will play against big names, they will gain experience and confidence and this is the much needed aspect in performance of players. Therefore, ICC should try to make agree big teams to play more matches against associated teams for the betterment of cricket. Although there would be no big sponsorship money available, but cricket lover country should avoid sponsorship matters for these matches.
